How your lucky number is calculated
In Indian numerology every number from 1 to 9 has a ruling planet: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn and 9 Mars. Your lucky numbers are the numbers whose planet gets along with the planets of both your Mulank and your Bhagyank.
- Find your Mulank (Moolank): the day of birth reduced to one digit.
- Find your Bhagyank: every digit of your date of birth added and reduced to one digit.
- Score every number from 1 to 9 against each of them using the traditional planet friendship table. A friend scores 2, a neutral planet 1 and an enemy 0, in both directions, so each pair scores 0 to 4.
- Lucky numbers score 3 or more (good or excellent) with both your Mulank and your Bhagyank.
- Numbers to use with care score 0 or 1 with either of them.
Your lucky days and colours are the traditional day and colours of your Mulank and Bhagyank planets.

How is my lucky number found?
Your Mulank and Bhagyank each have a ruling planet. Every number from 1 to 9 is checked against both planets in the traditional planet friendship table. Numbers rated good or better with both are your lucky numbers.
Why do I have several lucky numbers?
Most dates of birth have more than one number that is friendly to both planets. Use the first ones for choices you can make easily, such as a date or a house number, and ask Namieta which one to favour for bigger decisions.
What if the calculator finds no lucky number for both?
Some Mulank and Bhagyank pairs have planets that do not get along, so no number is good with both. The calculator then shows the closest numbers. Namieta usually decides which of your two numbers to favour.
Where do the lucky days and colours come from?
They are the traditional day and colours of your Mulank and Bhagyank planets, for example Sunday and gold for the Sun. Books differ for 4 (Rahu) and 7 (Ketu), so treat those as a starting point.
