How your mobile number total is worked out
Mobile number numerology looks at one number: the total of all ten digits, reduced to a single digit. That total is then compared with the two numbers from your date of birth. Here is the method the calculator uses, step by step.
Take the 10-digit number
Leave out +91 and any leading 0. If you type them, the calculator removes them for you.Add all ten digits
For 98765 43210: 9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 0 = 45.Reduce to one digit

Why the match with Moolank and Bhagyank matters
In Indian numerology each number from 1 to 9 is ruled by a planet: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn and 9 Mars. Your Moolank (मूलांक) is your day of birth reduced to one digit, and your Bhagyank (भाग्यांक) is all the digits of your date of birth added and reduced to one digit. Each of them has a ruling planet too.
A number you use every day is read as more comfortable when its planet is friendly with the planets of both your numbers. The calculator uses the traditional (naisargika) planet friendship table and checks it in both directions. Each pair scores from 0 to 4: Excellent (4), Good (3), Average (2), Challenging (1) or Difficult (0).
Supportive means both pairs are Good or Excellent. Neutral means the weaker pair is Average. Needs review means at least one pair is Challenging or Difficult.
Worked example: Priya, born 15/07/1990, mobile 98765 43210
The same number gives a different answer for a different person. For Arjun, born 28/03/1994, the Moolank is 1 (2 + 8 = 10 → 1) and the Bhagyank is 9 (2 + 8 + 0 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 36 → 9). Mars is a friend of the Sun and of itself in both directions, so both pairs are Excellent and 98765 43210 is Supportive for him.

A note on zeros
Many Indian numerologists prefer a mobile number with few zeros, and some suggest avoiding numbers with many of them. Others give zeros no special weight, since 0 adds nothing to the total. Mobile number numerology: common questions
Should I include +91 when I enter my number?
No need. Enter your 10-digit mobile number. If you type +91 or a leading 0, the calculator removes it and uses only the ten digits, because the country code is the same for every Indian number.
Which mobile number total is lucky?
There is no single lucky total for everyone. A total is read as suiting you when its ruling planet is friendly with the planets of both your Moolank and Bhagyank. Enter your date of birth and the calculator shows whether your total suits you and, if it does not, which totals would.
Does this apply to business numbers too?
Yes. The same method is used for a shop or business number, usually checked against the owner's Moolank and Bhagyank. Because a business number is printed and shared widely, speak to Namieta before you change one.
Can I just change one digit to fix the total?
Changing one digit changes the total, but it also makes a completely different phone number that your operator has to issue. In practice you choose from the numbers available to you and pick the one whose total suits you. The calculator lets you check each option in seconds.
What does "Needs review" mean?
It means at least one of the two pairs, your total with your Moolank or your total with your Bhagyank, scored Challenging or Difficult on the planet friendship check. It is a prompt to look more closely, not a verdict on your luck. Namieta can read the number with your full chart before you decide anything.
Is my mobile number total the same as my Moolank or Bhagyank?
No. Moolank (मूलांक) and Bhagyank (भाग्यांक) come from your date of birth and never change. The mobile number total comes from the digits of your phone number, so it changes whenever your number changes.
