Your baby has arrived, or is about to, and you want a name chosen with care before the naming ceremony.
Families who follow a naam akshar
You want names that start with the letter from your baby’s rashi or nakshatra, or a letter the family has already chosen.
Parents with a few names in mind
You and your family have some favourites and want to know which of them suits your baby’s date of birth.
What the reading covers
The reading starts with your baby’s birth details and ends with a shortlist of names you can choose from as a family.
Your baby’s birth numbers
The date and time of birth you send are the starting point. From the date come the Moolank (the day of birth reduced to one digit) and the Bhagyank (all the digits of the date added and reduced to one digit).
The number of each name
Each letter gets its Chaldean value: A, I, J, Q, Y = 1; B, K, R = 2; C, G, L, S = 3; D, M, T = 4; E, H, N, X = 5; U, V, W = 6; O, Z = 7; F, P = 8. No letter is 9. The total is reduced to one digit.
The match with your baby’s numbers
Each name number is compared with the Moolank and Bhagyank, using the friendship between their ruling planets, and the names that suit are kept on the shortlist.
The meaning of each name
The meaning and significance of every shortlisted name, so you know what your child’s name says as well as what it adds up to.
Your family’s preferences
A first letter, rashi or nakshatra letters, the family surname and your traditions are kept in mind, so the names feel right for your family and culture.

Common questions
What do you need to suggest names for my baby?
The baby’s date, time and place of birth, the parents’ names and the family surname. If your family follows a first letter or rashi and nakshatra letters, send those too, along with any names you are already considering.
Can you check names we have already chosen?
Yes. Add them to your WhatsApp message and each one is checked against your baby’s birth numbers, along with the shortlist.
How is the number of a name worked out?
By the Chaldean method. Each letter gets a value from 1 to 8 (no letter is 9), the values are added and the total is reduced to one digit. That number is then compared with the baby’s Moolank and Bhagyank.
Can the names start with our rashi or nakshatra letter?
Yes. If your family uses a naam akshar from the rashi or nakshatra for the naamkaran, send the letters and the shortlist will start from them.
Why does the spelling of the name matter?
Every letter has a value, so changing one letter can change the name number. You get guidance on the spelling and pronunciation of the name you choose.
Can I try a few names myself first?
Yes. The Name Numerology Calculator shows the Chaldean number of any name and compares it with a date of birth. For a shortlist chosen for your baby, send the details on WhatsApp.
